Death by Dickens

Dear all, It has been a manic few months. For those of you who have been here a while and received my old emails, you will have noticed my New Year’s resolution to write to you all every two weeks worked well at the beginning. Then the gremlins struck. Weeks rolled into months and I had to restart my newsletter list.

I lost many of you along the way, so thank you so much if you made it here. I truly appreciate all your support.

Now that I have sorted out all my social media accounts and this newsletter, I hope (fingers crossed) to get back into writing to you every couple of weeks.  That’s when I’m not writing the next book, of course.

I am currently putting the finishing touches to book three in the new Mike Atwell Series – Death on the Nineteenth. Writing this has been so fun, as I have ventured off to explore Eastern European folklore.

But you will have to wait until September to find out what that is all about. Until then, the first book in this new series  – Death by Dickens, releases this Friday, 31st May. To say I am a little nervous is an understatement. My stomach is flipping so much that I’m considering entering it in the local gymnastics competition! You can order your copy here: https://books2read.com/Deathbydickens

Meet Mike and Sharon Atwell, Sharon’s dogs Yogi and Boo Boo, and IT wizard, Dexter, with Phyllis. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the new characters.

I found this book challenging because, unlike the Wesberrey books where I had full control over the setting and characters, this book was based in Steve Higgs’s world and the tangible locations of Rochester, Broadstairs, West Malling, and Milton Regis. I also created a persona for a much-loved Patricia Fisher character – Mike Atwell.

Fortunately, Steve is a total gentleman and has been hugely supportive throughout the process. He has also been very patient. Those of you who have already read Steve’s books will know that man is uber-prolific. He can rattle off 60,000 words in a couple of weeks and each one will be perfect. I am a lot slower.

Anyway, I just wanted to send you a quick update and let you know that I have vanquished the gremlins and order is restored.

Hope the weather is bright and life is sunny where you are.

Share the love...
